It's been an interesting week for Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder. As his first public comments regarding the new coach and direction of the franchise began making the rounds, they were quickly engulfed by the announcement of his newly established Original Americans Foundation.
While GM Bruce Allen has been adamant that the purpose of the fund was not to deflect attention away from the name controversy, professional trolls such as The Post's Mike Wise have taken a more cynical (if not incoherent) view.
While I will save my opinions regarding the name issue for another time, Comedy Central's late night host Stephen Colbert took his shots at the Skins owner on Wednesday's edition of The Colbert Report.
This is not Colbert's first time dabbling in the subject of the team's name and, in the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII, he enlisted Redskins' legend Joe Gibbs to help coach him up as a potential NFL quarterback (pictured above).
Colbert, who was born in Washington, DC, has declared himself a Redskins fan multiple times on The Report, but, as is often the case with Stephen, it's hard to decipher if there is any truth behind the schtick.
